Tammy McNary is a visual artist and death doula based in Dallas, Texas. As the founder of TRUE DEATH EXPERIENCE, she offers end-of-life support to individuals and families, guiding them through the dying process with dignity and care. Tammy also co-founded Death Collective North Texas, a supportive and inclusive initiative that fosters connections within the deathcare community while providing education on death and dying to the broader public.

In January 2024, Tammy launched Oak Cliff Death Cafe, a regular gathering for open dialogue about death and dying. Before becoming a death doula, Tammy spent 20 years as a teaching artist in public elementary schools, nurturing children’s creativity and self-expression. Her artwork explores emotions and reflects her commitment to supporting emotional well-being, a focus she carries into her doula work, helping individuals and families navigate the emotional complexities of end-of-life experiences.

Trained by INELDA, Tammy also volunteers with a local nonprofit hospice, where she supports both adult and pediatric patients.
